English 340: Hyper Hermeneutics

I always picked jump from the train (posted 9 November 2005)

I’m not sure what to say about Whatever You Want. It certainly wasn’t like the choose you own adventure books I read as a kid which I was hoping it would be. Honestly, I found the book to be a let down for me. I couldn’t get into anything that was happening in the book. What do I care if Barbie or Barney gets drunk, falls in love, has sex with random strangers. Such garbage. What happened to mysterious strangers coming after you on a train and your options were either to jump or climb on top to get away. Bah!

Anyway, I attempted to read both parts simultaneously. Didn’t happen. It got too complicated so I just stuck to Barbie because Barney was an idiot. And then I tried to read both options and choose the best outcome but then that got boring. I’m not really sure what my original outcome was because I tried to get all of them or at least as many as I could before I put the book down for good. My favorite ending was the premature ending. Ha ha…I should have left it at that. Cheers to those that enjoyed it I for one did not. Probably because I am a big prude that doesn’t drink. Ha ha.

Lule, as usual you crack me up. I didn't even know that jumping from the train was an option... Now that I think about it, it would be pretty fun to go in and purposely make destructive decisions for Barney and watch him suffer muhahaha karma. As far as your comment that you didn't enjoy it "probably because I am a big prude that doesn't drink" I drink (a lot), and that really didn't factor in to my enjoyment (or not) of Whatever You Want. Although I did want a drink when I was done. Hmmmm
