Still Busy Busy Busy (Until Thursday)
So, come back then.
In the meantime, here's a thought: we used to depend on women's magazines for our "soft" craft ideas, and men's magazines for our "hard" craft ideas (but guys call them hobbies, of course).
Now, we Google everything from knitting patterns to recipes to casemods. The Internet has become our new one-stop shop for all things DIY.
The Internet allows all of us to indulge our inner Martha Stewarts -- but in a specialized, limited way. We don't have to bother about how deep we should dig our rose bush beds (always remembering to flip the layers of soil, of course). Heck, we don't even have to know that such procedures exist. We can cocoon ourselves in our own little world of obsessive-compulsive geekery.
Is Martha's turn to reality TV a sign that The Queen of All Domesticity has finally jumped the shark and the Persian silk embroidered chintz couch? Is her mania for all of the things that one can do to, with, or in a house and its immaculately sculpted grounds actually turning us off?
Which leads me to this delightful bit of knit-wittedness:
It just doesn't get any cuter than that.
(Via Boing Boing, of course.)

How the heck can you crochet a light saber?
Sure, I know, I know -- stay tuned.

I was just wondering what in tarnation I would do if my child's ears turn out to be too small. I shall look no further.

That is the most beautiful knitted thing I've ever seen.

Hey sster, it's not all about SIZE, you know.
And besides, these clearly are not prosthetics, but muffs.
